Kilbees Farm Stud

Covering Information

The covering season begins on the 1st February 2008 and ends on 1st August 2008.  Orders for fresh semen must be placed by telephone or fax and notice must be given at least two days prior to requirement.  Before semen is ordered we must have the following details:

  • The owners exact postal address, telephone number and email address (if available)
  • Exact shipping address, if different from above.
  • The receiving vet’s name, address and telephone number
  • The mare’s details (copy of the mare’s pedigree)
  • Desired stallion
  • The full stud fee

Should a stallion not be available at any time during the covering season, due to competition, sickness etc. another desired stallion at the breeding station can be used.  No claims can be made for the reimbursement of the stud fee.

For broodmares who have not conceived or have reabsorbed, half the paid stud fee from the previous year will be credited, provided that a veterinary attestation is submitted by 1st December.  If this document has not been submitted by this date, the credit is regrettably not possible.  Broodmares that have been inseminated after the 1st July of the respective year for the first time, and have not conceived, will receive a free covering (within the respective price category).  Please note that in this case also, the veterinary attestation must be submitted by 1st December.
